Tiny soldiers of IPA: An insider unsung story of IIT Madras

Riding along the roads covered with trees dating back to century, listening to the thrumming sounds, is ecstatic for us. It was the month of March 2020; fear of coronavirus had begun to materialize in India. As usual, we went along the road to relish the bicycle ride. “The sanitizers are no longer available in the market”, says our student physicist, Suman. “You know they are about to ask students to vacate the hostels”, says our nonchalant, Rishav. “Pallavi, the 70% IPA(Isopropyl Alcohol) solution you use in your cleanroom, can it be used as a sanitizer”, says a restless soul, Shiv. “Yes, the sanitizer has more or less the same composition, 70% IPA solution is used worldwide in cleanrooms”, says the student monk, Pallavi. This was just a random discussion, like thousand others we had before. Rarely, we agreed to prototype it in the lab tomorrow. “Discussions at the ease hours if turned into actions are boundless”. Next day in late afternoon, that was generally our cricket time behind

The perspective reinstated: Love is all around in disguise!

It was for the first time I had been out of my home state, far from people speaking my mother tongue, people that comforted me took care of me and protected me. A new experience altogether in Tamil Nadu, where the native language was nowhere near my perception of understanding. I had joined IIT Madras for my PhD studies and had got an opportunity to be a part of a National workshop in IISC Bangalore. Although based on the course I have enrolled for, it is clear that I am no kid; however, I had just finished my B.tech and directly joined for PhD at the age of 21 years. I had no experience of the outside world and had been burdened with the narratives of the most horrible incidents that a girl might have to face, just to keep me safe from the dangers that lie beyond the reaches of my safest cocoon. Hence, I hardly even dared to explore the world beyond classrooms and labs. But, this time, the journey from IITM to IISC was part of my education. I cannot even think for a split second to mi

Hello Me

  Hi Everyone! Did this ever occur to you to find yourself lost in your thoughts in any random place, in any random situation? And you don’t know exactly where they are coming from. Have you ever feel the loneliness and not feel sad about it? Have you ever restrain yourself from something which you have a lust for? Besides being influenced by social media have you ever tried to make a better day? Do you think you know you better than anyone else does? Is it okay if you find yourself miserable at some point? Most importantly after knowing your own-self Have you managed to like yourself? Here is what we will do………Introduce to our own self esteem. It is not sad if you find yourself weeping on some day, But It is painful if you still just think about that day and that brings tears in your eyes. Do not get upset. It happens. Being Emotional is a special quality of being human but at the same time developing the power to respect & privatize your feelings is very important. Keep it

Has the nature of living been turbulent?

Imagine yourself sitting calmly in the meadows, beneath a tree, watching the water run in a nearby stream. You'll be enchanted by its beauty without a doubt. If you look attentively, you'll see that the stream's water flows in an unexpected and chaotic pattern. However, despite the fact that the overall flow appears to be moving in one direction, the water is experiencing random chaotic motion. According to physics, this type of motion is known as Turbulence. Turbulence has several characteristics, one of which is its unpredictable nature, which is the beauty of both turbulence and life.  People might look at your life as a smooth laminar flow, but in reality, you feel turbulence, which is what makes it so stunning. For us, every day is a new day, and every second is a new second. We don't know what the future holds in store for us. Chances, challenges, riches, and tragedies are constantly thrown our way, and we never know what tomorrow may bring. Another striking phe

GOD Beyond Temples

What can one expect from a child at an early age: lovable, respectable, and even a little obedient? That's how Indian culture works: parents force their children to follow specific imaginary guidelines to have a decent social life. Making children believe in God and the consequences of not following anything or acting in a particular way. Families that do not believe in forcing their children to do anything once instead teach them the significance of being polite and doing something good for the sake of society while still respecting their freedom. I'll explain how a certain degree of freedom may contribute to the excellent development of young children. To better appreciate how a certain degree of freedom may contribute to the superb result of young children, I'll tell you about a tale from the past that has been long forgotten. Once, there was a boy named Deepak, whose only knowledge and understanding come through his mother's teachings. His mother, "Parvathi,&qu

"To a sparrow, whose presence makes me feel rejuvenated and whose absence makes me sick"   O nirash chiriya | kuchh kahun yahh na kahun. Chup rahun, ya bol dun | Kya wo mujhe sunti hai, Kya mere daano ko chunti hai | Nirash hai mujhse syd.  kahun kya usse , khud ke ghoshle mai ulajhi  rahti jo hai | Uski  chahchahat sunta hun, Magan ho jaun, aisa geet sunata hun | Aaj kahin wo gum hai, Mere mashtiksh ki stirtha mano bang hai | Rooz sochta hun,  aangan ko roz niharta hun |  Pr uski to  na mujhe  shudh, Na hi kisi ko koi  Khabar hai|                                                                                                                 Lagta hai naraz hai mujhse,   Jarur Kuchh to paap hua hai mujhse |   Chaahta hun samjhna usko,   pr ek duvidha mujhe aakar  padi hai|         Na mai uski boli Janu,   Na mai uske dhang pahchanu |   Bolu to kya bolu,    kahun to kya kahun |      Nirasha ke badalon mai,   Udh gyi na  jaane kahan |

( Poem Audio track- https://soundcloud.com/rahul-soni-266411669/tu-kisan-hai    ) This poem is dedicated to a person who has a pure heart, a lot of duties, and is a true son of mother nature, and who has committed his life to feeding the country, as we name him Farmer.
